Getting my haircut the other day, I couldn’t help but eavesdrop on the highly charged political conversation happening next to me. The client was asking the young female hairdresser who she thought she would vote for. The Malibu Stacy like hairdresser’s reply was “Hmmm… dunno… none of them are really that good looking… I mean, like, I’d vote if there were any good looking ones but there aren’t any… I haven’t actually enrolled to vote yet, and unless they make it like, you know, a competition where you get to pick the best looking one, I’m not planning on voting anytime soon.”
If you contrast that conversation with the fact that in other parts of the world, people stand in front of moving tanks, set themselves on fire, starve themselves to death, are beaten, tortured or gunned down in their thousands just for protesting for the right to vote, it really is a mad world.
