In the Fifth Element, the little old Thai man who brings lunch consoles the disgruntled Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) that “mathematically, luck must change” and that his grandfather used to say: “It never rain every day!”

This wasn’t meant to be taken literally of course, because a weather comment like that would at odds with places like Melbourne. Now, back to my point, if you can call it that… Sure it’s bad that George Dubya is back, stronger and more powerful than ever… and sure it’s scary that he now must achieve all of his ambitions in the next four years (as you know a US President can serve a maximum of two terms)… and sure it’s unnerving that he can’t pronounce ‘nuclear’… Hmmm… wait… maybe we are all doomed.

Nah… I predicted the GST would mean the end of civilization, but instead I ended up getting a cheaper telly!
